Abstract
The complexes of thallium(I) with benzothiazolines of the type Tl(Bzt) (where Bzt-1 is the anion of BztH molecule) have been prepared and ch aracterized by elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations and UV, IR, H-1- and C-13-NMR spectral studies. These studies reveal the bi-coordinated state for central thallium atom. Some of the ligands an d their thallium(I) complexes have also been screened against a number of pathogenic bacteria and fungi and are found to possess good antiba cterial and antifungal properties.
