M. Patel et R. Trivedi, VARIATIONS IN STRENGTH AND BONDING PROPERTIES OF FINES FROM FILLER, FIBER, AND THEIR AGGREGATES, Tappi journal, 77(3), 1994, pp. 185-192
Fines from bamboo-hardwood pulp, talc, and aggregates from mill white
water solids were blended in 36 different compositions. General proper
ties of the sheets made from each composition, such as bulk, burst fac
tor, breaking length, tear factor, and double fold, are reported Fiber
strength (FS) and bond factor (BF) were measured using a Pulmac troub
le shooter Variations in strength and bonding properties of the four d
ifferent fines studies are discussed. In order to explain the filling
and bonding mechanisms of the fines, schema were drawn based on optica
l microscopy and SEM studies.
