Abstract
The electronic properties of a recently proposed new structure, twinni ng superlattice, based on the periodic array of twin boundaries in Si and Ge, are calculated. In addition to showing miniband structure as c onventional superlattices do, the twinning superlattices exhibit some unusual electronic properties, such as zero energy gaps, interface sta te derived minibands, and indirect miniband gaps.
