Single- and two-layered broadband radio absorbing structures based on
resistive threads are designed and investigated. The complex dielectri
c permittivity of a resistive thread as a function of the wavelength i
s investigated. A method for calculating the reflection coefficient of
resistive-thread-based structures is proposed. By means of this metho
d, experimental samples with reflection coefficient less than -15 dB f
or a two-layer structure, and less than -20 dB for a single-layer stru
cture are obtained.
