Large (of a percent-order) reflection intensity changes in the early s
tages of deposit formation on glass surfaces under alternate supply of
diethylzinc and CO2 have been obtained at room temperature. In the me
asurements, a nearly normal incident irradiation of a 632.8 nm He-Ne l
aser was used. Short-period oscillations superimposing the diethylzinc
-induced reflectance signal have also been detected. The findings are
interpreted in terms of the peculiarities of the deposit roughness evo
lution.
