We present measurements of velocity and vibrational energy distributio
ns of aniline desorbed from a quartz substrate by pulsed laser-induced
thermal desorption. The experiments are carried out in a two laser pu
mp-probe setup, using a newly developed in-vacuum dosing system for co
ntinuous replenishment of the aniline layer between laser pulses. Our
data indicate laser desorption of molecules at translational and vibra
tional temperatures close to the equilibrium desorption temperature of
aniline from quartz.
