Abstract
Kinetic studies of the reactions of the nucleophiles HO-, SO32-, and N -3(-) With N-methyl-N-nitroso-p-toluenesulfonamide (MNTS) bound to sod ium dodecyl sulfate micelles, and of HO- with 1,2-chloroethyl-3-cycloh exyl-1-nitrosourea (CCNU) in the same medium, showed that for the MNTS /N-3(-) and CCNU/HO- reactions (but not the others) the distribution o f anion between the aqueous phase and the aquo-micellar interface is n ontrivial and must be taken into account in applying the pseudophase m odel of micellar media. A satisfactory distribution was calculated by numerical solution of the Poisson-Boltzmann equation for the cell mode l of micellar media.
