Rp. Noordanus et al., DELAYED RUPTURE OF THE EXTENSOR POLLICIS LONGUS TENDON - A RETROSPECTIVE STUDY, Archives of orthopaedic and trauma surgery, 113(3), 1994, pp. 164-166
Eight patients with delayed rupture of the extensor pollicis longus te
ndon are presented. Six had suffered from a fracture of the wrist with
out dislocation. This is in our opinion a predisposing factor in the e
tiology of delayed tendon rupture. Our treatment of choice is transfer
of the extensor indicis proprius tendon. In all patients satisfactory
thumb function was restored.
