Staphylococcus aureus was isolated from six cases of bacterial infecti
on in canaries, Staphylococcus hyicus from three and Staphylococcus in
termedius from one case. Staphylococcus aureus was most often involved
in outbreaks of septicaemia, with or without 'Megabacterium' proventr
