Abstract
A reduction of the external redox potential from 343 mV (atmospheric O 2 saturation) to 143 mV had only a slight effect on heavy metal uptake by whole cells of Chlorella fusca but caused an increased copper adso rption and a threefold increase of lead accumulation by isolated cell walls.
