Abstract
Shoot tips of cardamom var. Malabar isolated from multiple shoot cultu res were encapsulated in 3 % (w/v) sodium alginate with different gel matrices. Maximum conversion of the encapsulated shoot tips into plant lets was on White's medium and the plantlets were successfully grown i n soil.
