Au. Haq et al., INFLUENCE OF AGING ON THE TEXTURE DEVELOPMENT OF TENSILE-DEFORMED DUPLEX STEEL, Journal of Materials Science, 29(8), 1994, pp. 2168-2176
Remanit dual-phase stainless steel in the annealed state was studied a
fter 20% tensile deformation in 0, 45 and 90-degrees with respect to t
he rolling direction and subsequent ageing at 475 and 850-degrees-C fo
r 3 h, and water quenched for texture development in ferrite and auste
nite phases by ODF analysis. It is concluded that 20% tensile deformat
ion leads to deformation of both ferrite and austenite phases. The deg
ree of deformation of the respective phases is dependent upon the defo
rmation direction. Furthermore, the texture for the ferrite phase chan
ges distinctly after ageing at 475 or 850-degrees-C, but the texture f
or the austenite phase remains unaffected. Thus it may be concluded th
at ageing treatment leads to change predominantly of the ferrite phase
.
