The thermal properties of Ba(hfa)(2), Ba(hfa)(2)(tetraglyme), Ba(hfa)(
2)(18-crown-6), and Ba(hfa)(2)(diaza-18-crown-6) are investigated by c
omparing the results of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) for these mat
erials. All TGA measurements were made in helium at atmospheric pressu
re. Infrared, MS, NMR, and x-ray crystallographic measurements are com
pared for each of the complexes and correlations are made between the
structure-specific information derived from these analyses and the the
rmal properties of the barium complexes.
