The frequencies of the (Q)Q(12, 1) and the (Q)Q(12, 2) transitions in
the V3 band of (CH3F)-C-12 and the frequency of the (Q)R(4, 3) transit
ion in the nu3 band of (CH3F)-C-13 have been measured to an accuracy o
f +/-0.1 MHz relative to the 9P(20) and 9P(32) (CO2)-C-12 laser freque
ncies, respectively, by using them as the pump transitions in three-le
vel double resonance experiments with both copropagating and counterpr
opagating beams. The frequencies of several transitions in the 2nu3-nu
3 bands of these molecules were also measured to this accuracy by usin
g them as the probe transitions in either three-level or four-level do
