Abstract
This paper describes a charge-coupled device (CCD) imager for a low-co st compact color module with S-VHS resolution. Mosaic color filters, f ast frame shift and on-chip drivers are combined in a frame-transfer C CD to achieve high resolution color images with low smear in a 1/3 inc h format. Finally, surface pinning is introduced in a frame-transfer C CD without compromising essential features such as vertical anti-bloom ing and electronic shutter.
