Abstract
This paper reports on a phase stabilized, 0.5-Hz repetition rate, tera watt, CPA laser system using a flashlamp-pumped Nd : Glass slab amplif ier, which is synchronized with a 46.6-GeV electron beam at the Stanfo rd Linear Accelerator Center with 2-ps stability. The laser system del ivers 1 mu m wavelength picosecond pulses with energies greater than 2 J. The pulses have been frequency doubled with similar to 50% efficie ncy.
