Some problems in nuclear astrophysics are discussed with emphasize on
problems central to the field which were not solved over the last two
decades, including helium burning in massive stars and the C-12(alpha,
gamma)O-16 reaction, as well as the B-8 solar neutrino flux and the B
e-7(p, gamma)B-8 reaction. It will be demonstrated that these problems
could be solved by measuring the time reversed process(es), such as t
he beta-delayed alpha-particle emission of N-16 and the Coulomb Dissoc
iation of B-8, using radioactive beams (of B-8 and N-16), that allow f
or amplification of the sought for small cross section, of relevance f
or stellar processes.
