Infiltrating angiolipoma of the quadriceps muscle was diagnosed in a p
atient presenting. with a painful mass in one thigh. Numerous calcific
ations were seen on plain films. Computed tomography showed a fatty co
mponent and an angiomatous component and allowed to evaluate local ext
ension of the tumor. Hypervascularization was seen upon arteriography.
Surgical excision proved unfeasible. Embolization was performed to re
lieve pain. Early diagnosis of these tumors is essential to allow surg
ical excision, which is the treatment of choice.
