Abstract
Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films containing methylene blue and methyl ora nge are useful as gamma and electron radiation dosimeters. Absorbed do ses should not exceed 40 kGy for methylene blue and 500 kGy for methyl orange. Because PVA is water-soluble, the films may be made without t oxic solvents. The effects of irradiation temperature and humidity on the radiation response of the dosimeter films are discussed.
