Abstract
Two-longitudinal-mode oscillation is observed in a hybrid TEA CO2 lase r with the cw section above the lasing threshold when the two longitud inal modes are located symmetrically with respect to the center of the transition line. The modulation depth of the beat-note output resulti ng from the two-mode oscillation increases with the discharge voltage of the TEA section.
