Abstract
The clinical course of a 37-year old female patient with chronic pancr eatitis undergoing total duodenopancreatectomy and subsequent autotran splantation of purified pancreatic islets into the portal vein is desc ribed. The indication, technical aspects and the metabolic outcome of the procedure are discussed along with the current literature.
