P. Chowdhury et al., EFFECTS OF GROUP-II B AND GROUP-IV B METAL-OXIDES ON CURING ACRYLIC RUBBER, Kautschuk und Gummi, Kunststoffe, 47(3), 1994, pp. 175-177
Mixtures of group II B and IV B metal oxides in the presence of ethyle
ne thiourea (ETU) have been used to cure acrylic rubber (ACM). Cure ch
aracteristics and vulcanizate properties have been studied with a view
to elucidate the curing mechanism with special reference to the role
of metal oxides. CdO-Pbo mixtures Provide best results. The studies on
FTIR spectra show that crosslinking occurs at the C-Cl cure site of t
he acrylic rubber.
