Abstract
This paper analyzes the waste management options for plastics parts, u sing the disposal of automobiles as an example. It describes the vario us steps of dismantling logistics, as well as the economical implicati ons of mechanical recycling versus chemical recycling and energy recov ery. Emphasis is given to the chemical recycling of ''resin specific'' versus ''mixed polymers'' waste streams, highlighting the activities in both fields by DuPont.
