Abstract
B-11 NMR and ir spectral measurements have been carried out for xFe2O3 .(50-x)PbO.50B2O3 glasses (2.5 less-than-or-equal-to x less-than-or-eq ual-to 15 mol%). The fraction, N4, of the four coordinated boron ions decreases with increasing x denoting the increase of nonbridging oxyge n ions in the borate network. The infrared spectra have been deconvolu ted, N4 values could be calculated from the normalised area of the com ponent bands.
