Abstract
The processes of induction and relaxation of photoinduced linear biref ringence in tetragonal Ca3Mn2Ge3O12 and cubic Cd3Mn2Ge3O12 manganese-g ermanium garnets are studied. The time dependencies of photoinduced bi refringence DELTAn(t) measured at induction and relaxation are shown t o be of nonexponential character. They are. described by the exp [-(t/ tau)beta] time dependence taking into account the dispersion of charac teristic times tau of the processes under consideration.
