The reaction of RU3(CO)12 with HP(t)Bu2 leads to the complexes Ru3(CO)
9(HP(t)Bu2)3 (1), HRU2(CO)4(PtBu2)(HPtBu2)2 (2) and Ru(CO)3(HPtBu)2)2
(3). The unsaturated dinuclear complex 2 reversibly takes up carbon mo
noxide to give the coordinatively saturated compound HRu2(CO)6(PtBU2)(
HPtBu2) (4). The molecular structure of 2 has been established by sing
le-crystal X-ray structure analysis; the solid-state structure differs
from that in solution.
