Abstract
The particle confinement property of LHCD (lower hybrid current drive) plasma on the HL-1 tokamak is mainly affected by the line-averaged de nsity of electrons n(e)BAR. With n(e)BAR < 2.0 x 10(13) cm-3, the part icle confinement time (tau(p))is improved with the suppression of H(al pha)(D(alpha)) fluctuation at the edge, and tends to increase with the power P(LH). The peak of tau(p) appears near the critical density (1. 0 X 10(13) cm-3). These results are not influenced by the current driv e directions.
