Abstract
The effects of Indole-3-acetic Acid (IAA) and Gibberellic acid (GA3) O n seedling performance of Avicennia marina (Forsk.) Vierh. were studie d. The GA3 was found to enhance shoot growth by 26% and root growth by 40%, shoot dry weight by 145% at 50 mg L-1. Indole-3-acetic acid also increased shoot dry weight by 139% and root length to 31% at 10 mg L- 1. The GA3 Was more effective than IAA in increasing the accumulation of protein, tissue nitrate, carotenoids, chlorophylls and their fracti ons in photosystems I and II and in the light harvesting complex.
