Several new hexacoordinated ruthenium(III) complexes of the type [RuX2
(LL)(EPh3)2] (where X = Cl or Br; E = P or As and LL = S-benzyldithioc
arbazate or S-methyldithiocarbazate) have been synthesised. The Schiff
bases deprotonate and behave as uninegative bidentate nitrogen sulphu
r (NS-) chelating ligands. All the new complexes have been characteris
ed on the basis of their analytical, IR, EPR and electronic spectrosco
pic data.
