Abstract
We tested the hypothesis that the strong reduction in germination in o ld seeds is caused by changes in the content of free endogenous cytoki nins. This hypothesis was not confirmed as extracts of 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 a nd 8-years old seeds studied by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and ga s-liquid chromatography (GLC) did not differ in their cytokinin concen trations.
