Abstract
From the stem-bark of Mangifera indica (var/cv Himsagar), a new triter penoid, 29-hydroxymangiferonic acid (3-oxo-29-hydroxycycloart-24E-en-2 6-oic acid) besides several known triterpenoids and steroids have been isolated. The structure of the new triterpenoid was elucidated by spe ctroscopic methods.
