Je. Landrito et al., EFFECTS OF INTRALESIONAL INJECTION OF CISPLATIN ON SQUAMOUS-CELL CARCINOMA AND NORMAL TISSUE OF MICE, Anticancer research, 14(1A), 1994, pp. 113-118
Iodized oil as a drug carrier system for intralesional injection of ci
splatin was assessed using human squamous cell carcinoma and normal ti
ssues (kidney and small intestine) of BALB/c nu/nu mice. The results w
ere compared to intralesional and intraperitoneal injections of cispla
tin dissolved in distilled water. The following were assessed: change
in tumor volume, increase or decrease in body weight of mice, and brom
odeoxyuridine uptake of tumor, kidney and small intestine. Tissue plat
inum concentrations were also measured. Results showed that iodized oi
l may prove to be beneficial as a drug carrier system of cisplatin.
