Og. Ryazhskaya et al., DETECTION OF NEUTRINO FLAVOR OSCILLATIONS DURING OBSERVATION OF A NEUTRINO BURST FROM A STELLAR COLLAPSE IN THE GALAXY, JETP letters, 59(5), 1994, pp. 315-319
The ability of large-volume scintillation counters based on white spir
it [(CH2)n] to select charged current (CC) nu(e),nu(e) interactions wi
th C-12, while observing a neutrino burst from a stellar collapse in t
he Galaxy is discussed. If there exist neutrino flavor oscillations, n
u(mu(tau))<-->nu(e), and the temperature of nu(mu,tau),nu(mu,tau) flux
es is higher than that of nu(e),nu(e), then the number of the CC inter
actions will increase. The scintillation counters have very high sensi
tivity for detection of these effects.
