Abstract
A colloidal crystalline dispersion of monodisperse silica spheres in m ethyl methacrylate (MMA) photopolymerizes to a PMMA film. The composit e film retains the fcc order of the monomer dispersion and is a select ive filter of visible light at 490 nm by Bragg diffraction. A d111 sur face layer of the composite is shown in the SEM.
