Mj. Lucero et al., A STUDY OF SHEAR AND COMPRESSION DEFORMATIONS ON HYDROPHILIC GELS OF TRETINOIN, International journal of pharmaceutics, 106(2), 1994, pp. 125-133
A theological study of hydrophilic gels of Carbomer(R) 940 with tretin
oin as the drug, and ascorbic acid as an antioxidant, has been carried
out. At the same time, the effect of storage time has been determined
. Both shear and compression deformations were applied. From the resul
ts obtained, correlations between both types of deformation have been
established. The results were statistically significant between shear
and compression stresses, and between shear stress and area of spreadi
ng.
