F. Barba et al., EFFECT OF OXYGEN-CONTENT ON THE CORROSION OF ALN POWDER IN DILUTED ACID-SOLUTION, Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 13(4), 1994, pp. 335-338
Corrosion exposures al room temperature in different diluted acid medi
a (0.025N and 0.05N HCl) were performed on two aluminum nitride powder
s with different oxygen contents: 0.6 wt% and 1 wt%. The process was m
onitored, measuring the amount of Al3+ leached and the solution pH. Th
e results show that the corrosion kinetics are dependent on the acid c
oncentration, and that the amount of oxygen present in the powder in s
olid solution is the factor that controls the length of the low rate a
ttack step of the corrosion process.
