Abstract
The upper bound on average productivity and efficiency and the lower b ounds on entropy production of an irreversible cyclic separation proce ss with space-variable temperature and chemical-potential reservoirs a re calculated via the generalized formalism of finite-time thermodynam ics. The working fluid is described by partial differential equations, containing controls and parameters in the boundary conditions.
