Abstract
The intramuscular fat content of M longissimus and four muscles of the hind leg as well as fattening and carcass quality traits were measure d in 135 German Landrace pigs. The aim of this study was to test wheth er the variability in the recorded traits was correlated to mutations in apolipoproteins. The pigs were fattened unter standardized conditio ns. Environmental factors which might have influenced the traits were included in the statistical model. There were in part significant diff erences between pigs of different allotypes and genotypes, respectivel y. However, the results concerning the intramuscular fat content were not similarly directed in different muscles.
