Abstract
Results of the maximum-likelihood estimation of heterozygous beta-thal assemia frequency in the Crimean Tartar ancestral population obtained by evaluating the gametic contribution of Uzbeks to the Crimean Tartar ethnic group are presented. The computing algorithm is given, and rel iability of the obtained results is discussed.
