Abstract
Efficient routes to racemic Ilmofosine (1) and to the enantiomers of i ts oxygen analog, 2'-(trimethylammonio)ethyl 3-hexadecyloxy-2-methoxym ethylpropanephosphate (2), are described starting from ethyl alpha-(hy droxymethyl)acrylate (3) or 2-methylene-1,3-propanediol (6).
