Abstract
In the title reaction, successive substitution of hydrogen atoms in th e phenyl ring of benzaldehyde by fluorine atoms brought about gradual alteration of both diastereo- and enantioselectivities in the correspo nding oxazolines formation. The highest values for the unusual selecti vity (up to 63% cis with 86-90% ee) were observed in the reaction of t etrafluoro- and pentafluorobenzaldehydes.
