The paper presents the results of measurements of the optic parameters
of human epidermis in UV wave range. The method of superficial ruptur
es of the epidermis was used for the preparation of the samples, and f
or the calculation of the linear coefficients of absorption and diffus
ion, the method for the mathematical processing of the results was mod
ified with due consideration for the method of the sample preparation.
Use of the method of layer-by-layer ruptures has helped obtain the tr
ansmission, absorption and diffusion spectra of the epidermis in psori
asis. Analysis of the optic parameters of the epidermis in health and
psoriasis helped explain some photobiologic phenomena and outline the
approaches to improvement of photo- and photochemotherapy.
