Abstract
Competitive enzyme immunoassay (EIA) with two monoclonal antibodies to C. psittaci has been developed; the monoclonal antibodies were cross- reactive to C. trachomatis antigens. The test permits detection of ant ichlamydial antibodies in human sera, making use of an antigen prepare d from C. tranchomatis Vi 434 strain, serologic variant L2. Competitiv e EIA of sera from patients with verified diagnosis of urogenital chla mydiasis has detected antichlamydial antibodies in 85.7 % of cases.
