Alopecia areata in a woman aged 23 with albopapuloid dominant dystroph
ic bullous epidermolysis in described. Histologic and electron-microsc
opic examination of skin biopsy specimens from foci of alopecia and wh
ite papule has shown a great similarity of changes in both foci. Alope
cia areata may be a possible symptom of albopapuloid dominant dystroph
ic bullous epidermolysis. Foci of alopecia and white papules regressed
under the effect of therapy with retinol palmitate and zink oxide.
