Abstract
Three patients admitted to the surgical wards of Johannesburg Hospital in whom abdominal tuberculosis was suspected are presented. In every case difficulties were encountered in diagnosis and treatment. Each ca se presentation is followed by a short commentary on relevant aspects of abdominal tuberculosis.
