Abstract
The cationic palladium complex, (Cy3P)2Pd(H)(H2O)+BF4-, 1, catalyzes t he hydroesterification of olefins to give straight-chain esters as the major products. The catalytic system consists of 1, p-toluenesulfonic acid, 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino) butane.
