COMPARTMENT SYNDROME - AN UNUSUAL COMPLICATION OF THE LITHOTOMY POSITION

The compartment syndrome is a rare complication of surgery in the lith otomy position, but one that may result in neurovascular damage and pe rmanent disability. Herein, we present a case of bilateral three-compa rtment syndrome following urethroplasty in the dorsolithotomy position , with review of the literature and discussion of the causes and possi ble means to prevent this complication.
