In the present investigation, column design parameters for foam fracti
onation of human placental extract have been studied. A design procedu
re using the transfer unit concept has been presented. The number of t
ransfer units has been computed with the help of a quasi-equilibrium d
iagram especially constructed for the present system. In order to dete
rmine the height of a transfer unit, an empirical correlation for the
present system has been proposed.
