M. Lindeman et L. Sundvik, IMPACT OF HEIGHT ON ASSESSMENTS OF FINNISH FEMALE JOB APPLICANTS MANAGERIAL ABILITIES, The Journal of social psychology, 134(2), 1994, pp. 169-174
The impact of height on assessments of female job applicants' manageri
al abilities was examined in a study in which 44 subjects assessed 78
subordinates in natural settings. On global evaluations, tall women we
re regarded, as expected, as better managers than shorter women. On tr
ait-type assessments, only one difference was found between the rating
s of tall and short applicants.
