Clinical and morphologic examinations of 15 children with connective t
issue nevuses permitted dividing these patients into two groups-those
with small oval or circular papules and nodes up to 3 cm in size and t
hose with dense painless nodes with a tubercular surface up to 7 cm in
size. Histology showed thickened derma at the expense of collagen fib
ers in both the groups. Large amounts of elastic fibers are more often
detectable in Group 1. Nevuses should be differentiated from nodular
scleroderma and other clinically similar dermatoses.
